Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using DoOrDonate (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Finn Strehl / Strehl Digital, Düsseldorf, Germany.

2. The Service

DoOrDonate lets you create personal accountability challenges with a financial stake. If you complete your challenge, no payment is taken. If you fail, your stake is charged and forwarded (80%) to the charity you selected at the start.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must have a valid payment card to create a challenge with a stake.
• You must be legally allowed to enter into binding contracts in your jurisdiction.

4. Challenges and stakes

When you start a challenge you authorize us to charge your saved payment card if you fail to complete the challenge. This authorization is binding. By clicking "Save card & start" you confirm that:

• You understand your card will be charged if you miss the required proof submissions.
• The charge amount equals the stake you set at the time of challenge creation.
• No refunds are issued once a challenge has been settled as failed.

5. Proof submissions

You are required to submit a proof (photo) for each required day of your challenge. Failure to submit by midnight (local time) on a required day counts as a missed proof. We reserve the right to determine whether a challenge has been completed based on the number of submitted proofs versus the required count.

6. Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By saving a card you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Stakes are charged in EUR. Platform fees (20%) cover operating costs. The remaining 80% is transferred directly to the selected charity via Stripe Connect. DoOrDonate does not profit from failed challenges beyond its operating fee.

7. Charities

Donations are forwarded to partner charities via Stripe Connect. We cannot guarantee that a specific charity remains available. If a charity is unavailable at the time of settlement, we will forward the donation to an equivalent partner charity and notify you.

8. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time. Active challenges with a saved card will be settled before deletion. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the platform fee (20%) of any single challenged stake.

10. Changes

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the app. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The courts of Düsseldorf have exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes.
